PETER BAKAJA - SESSION BASS GUITAR AND
DOUBLE BASS PLAYER IN LONDON

I graduated at Liszt Ferenc University in Budapest, Hungary, as BA in music and teacher of jazz bass guitar and jazz double bass.

I have been working as a session bass player for more than 15 years, first in Hungary and since 2011 in London. Throughout this time I've played in numerous bands and orchestras in almost every genre. Please check out my bio for details on me and my experience and the videos page for examples of my playing.

I'm available for and experienced in all kinds of session work: studio recording, live gigs, live recording, depping (even at short notice), sight-reading recordings/gigs, pit bands, playing in orchestras (on electric bass too), etc.

I'm able to record electric bass myself and send you the raw files. Check out the bass on these recordings: The Trio Of Stridence (USA) for how it can sound after mixing and mastering. (You can also listen to some of these recordings here.)

Fees vary and are flexible so don't hesitate to contact me, however see some guidelines below:

Studio rates

Depend on: amount of material, amount of time, location, if we're recording only the bass or the whole or part of the band together, if there are rehearsals

Live rates

Start from:
£50 for "promoter" gigs
£80 for pub/club gigs
£150 for function/corporate gigs

I'm also an electric and upright bass teacher. Please check out the tuition page for more info.
